As you know, I am a Blogger, Writer, Radio Co-Host, former Entertainment Host/Interviewer/ Social Media Guru/intern, College student, aspiring PR and documentary producer/ Afro Entertainment Guru and self named “Afrosocialite”. I’m putting my #afrosocialitingness to good use and adding another title to my resume as the host of my friend Dj Eric Lemisse’s birthday party. It will be held on February 11 (Saturday) at Nectar Lounge in Silver Spring,MD (fun fact: i was born in Silver Spring and spent the first four years of my life there).The address is 7926 Georgia Avenue.
It’s gonna be a fun night and my first time hosting a birthday party (planning surprise parties for my little sister KK and friend Tina don’t count apparently).The Dj’s playing that night will be DJ Fly Atlanta, DJ Sam I am, DJ Tagz Sounds and DJ Vasco. There will be performances by Aj Ubao, Myra, Kabongo and Kunzo. So it’s a Pan African affair that you CANNOT MISS.(the time is still TBA) So come through and help me wish my good friend a happy bday. I’m taking my #teamafrosocialites for a girls weekend, so it will be FLY GIRLS on deck. lol. Still looking for the perfect dress. The colors are Red and Black and i don’t do red clothes. I’ll keep you updated with what i pick.
SO, Whose coming? I wanna see all the Africans in the DMV and NY come and show love. I already know #teamLiberia #teamKenya #teamZambia #teamMalawi #teamcameroon and more will be in the building. LETS GO!!!
While I’m waiting for the days to hurry up and get here, I’m getting in the Afrobeat mode with music from these 8 African Sites to Share Music that i wrote for Heritage 1960. Check them out. I swear you wont be dissapointed! Also just listened to this “Rise and Rise of Afrobeats” audio documentary via @djedu on BBC 1. Awesome is an understatement.( When I do go to London, I am going to one of his parties) Also been listening to some podcasts from the show I co host on called Radio AFRO.We are live EVERY Thursday so check us out
